My 20s: A Decade of Learning — Intro

On my 30th birthday, I decided that I would write about my experiences I had in my 20s because well, why not. Six months and every excuse later, I’m finally sitting down to write and reflect on the last ten years.

Finally.

This was something I had been lightly thinking about doing for quite some time, but gave every single excuse as to why I didn’t.

It wasn’t the right time.

No one is going to care.

Are the people that I write about going to get upset?

What site should I even use?

Should I even publish anything at all?

To all that, I finally said fuck it.

Earlier today, I had posted 10 year difference comparison photos on Twitter. At first I was just laughing at the fact that I never blended my blush in 2011, but as I got a better look at them, I realized while I am both people in the photos, the person in the first photo is completely different than the one in the second photo. How is that even possible?

Selfies 2011 vs 2021

Through these pictures, I finally found the motivation to sift through the last decade and talk about how my 20s actually went for me.

I will be writing about the good, the bad, and the ugly so I can try to understand just how I became the 30 year old woman I am today.

I honestly don’t know how long writing about the last 10 years will take but if you’re down to come on a long, bumpy journey down memory lane, take a seat and stay awhile.
